The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, C.B.E., (Military) Commander’s 2nd type neck badge, silver-gilt and enamel, with short section of neck riband for display purposes; Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 2 clasps, Natal, Belfast (4072 Cpl. J. Feehally, Rifle Brigade); King’s South Africa 1901-02, 2 clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (4072 Corpl: J. Feehally, Rifle Brigade.); Defence and War Medals 1939-45; Jubilee 1935, unnamed as issued; Coronation 1937, unnamed as issued; Army L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 1st issue (1210 Sjt: J. Feehally. A.P.C.); Army Meritorious Service Medal, G.V.R., 1st issue (1210 S. Sjt. -A.S.S. Mjr.- J. Feehally. John Feehally was born on 18 July 1881 and enlisted in the Rifle Brigade as a Boy Soldier on 18 October 1895, being posted to the 2nd Battalion. He served with them in South Africa during the Boer War, before transferring to the Army Pay Corps as a Corporal in January 1903, and was promoted Sergeant on 26 January 1911. Posted to the London District in 1912, he was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal per Army Order 99 of 1914, and served at home throughout the Great War. Promoted Staff Sergeant on 26 January 1917, for his services during the War he was awarded an Immediate Meritorious Service Medal, ands was advance Staff Sergeant Major on 25 June 1920.
Feehally was commissioned Lieutenant on 15 August 1926, and after serving in Shanghai from 1928 to June 1930 was posted to the War Office. He was promoted Captain on 15 August 1934, and Major on 1 April 1938, and was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1940. Appointed Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel on 1 July 1941, he was placed on retired pay later that month, but was re-employed, and was appointed a Local Colonel on 22 January 1944. Advanced to a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 1946 Birthday Honours’ List, he died in Athlone on 7 March 1973.

If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.
Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
