Frederick William Bagshawe was born in India on 6 March 1868 and was commissioned Second Lieutenant in the Oxfordshire Light Infantry on 22 August 1888. He transferred to the Madras Staff Corps, Indian Army, on 19 September 1889, and was posted to the 29th Madras Native Infantry on 12 May 1890, serving as a Wing Officer from 14 November 1890. He transferred to the 8th Madras Native Infantry on 16 October 1893, and then to the Military Accounts Department on 10 February 1897. Promoted Captain on 28 August 1899, he served in South Africa during the Boer War, and was present at the Relief of Ladysmith, including the action at Colenso on 15 December 1899; at the operations on Tugela Heights, 14-27 February 1900; and at operations in the Cape Colony, south of the Orange River. For his services he was awarded the Queen’s South Africa Medal with three clasps.
Promoted Major on 22 August 1906, Bagshawe served as Military Deputy Accountant General from 10 August 1907, and was awarded the Delhi Dubar Medal in 1911. Advanced Lieutenant-Colonel on 22 August 1914, he was appointed Senior Controller, Military Supply and Marine Accounts, on 3 October 1915, and served for the entire duration of the War in India; although not entitled to any campaign medals, for his services during the Great War he was both Mentioned in Despatches and appointed a Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire. Promoted Colonel on 29 July 1920, he retired on 29 July 1922, ansd died in Bristol on 23 July 1945.

Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
