D.C.M. London Gazette 15 April 1916:
‘For conspicuous gallantry. When his Company was hotly pressed by three counter-attack Lance Corporal Lowry with tow bags of bombs held up one attack single-handed.’

Arthur Cyril Lowrey (also recorded as Lowry) was born in Dublin in 1895 and attested for the Royal Fusiliers on 30 October 1914. He served with the 9th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 31 May 1915, and was awarded the D.C.M. for his gallantry in holding off enemy counter-attacks during the attack made by the 8th and 9th Battalions Royal Fusiliers at the Hohenzollern Redoubt on 2 March 1916. He suffered a gun shot wound to the thigh on 9 March 1916 and a second more serious gun shot wound to the back in August 1917; this latter wound resulted in his transfer to the Army Pay Corps. He transferred Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 3 March 1919. He died in Folkestone on 24 September 1966.

If you live within the UK, items will be despatched using Royal Mail Special Delivery. This service provides parcel tracking (via the Royal Mail website) and next weekday delivery (betwen 9am and 1pm). Items delivered within the UK are covered by our insurance company. Heavy and bulky lots will be sent by courier, in discussion with the client.

Outside of the UK
If the item/s being sent are worth under £1000 in total they are sent using Royal Mail’s Signed For International service. This ensures the item must be signed for when it is delivered.
If the item/s being sent are valued at over £1000 in total they will be sent using FedEx. This service allows next day delivery to customers in many parts of the US and parcels are fully trackable using the FedEx website.
