Bertie Crick attested for the Suffolk Regiment and served with the 5th Battalion during the Great War at Gallipoli from 2 December 1915. He served on the peninsula for a little over 2 weeks before the Regiment was evacuated to Alexandria on 19 December 1915; the majority of the men served in Egypt and Palestine thereafter.
